When we first arrived at this Solebury kitchen, it felt dated and confined. A central peninsula divided the space, while a wall at the far end separated a small, enclosed dining room. To create a more open and functional layout, we removed the dividing wall and introduced a new window to bring in natural light and enhance the sense of space.
The homeowners were drawn to a rich cranberry hue but found it challenging to incorporate without overwhelming the room. By thoughtfully weaving the color into custom window treatments and a floor-to-ceiling pantry, we were able to celebrate their preferred palette in a balanced, intentional way. Open shelving and a chair rail along the top of the backsplash add both decorative and practical touches—allowing for personalization while keeping counters clear and functional.
This transformation remains one of our favorite kitchen renovations, not only for its visual impact, but for how dramatically the space now supports the flow and daily rhythm of the home.
