Emeline designed this Doylestown kitchen with a vibrant mid-century modern aesthetic that reflects the homeowner’s love of color and desire for a more open, functional space. A rich teal tile serves as a bold focal point, balanced by the warmth of solid walnut countertops that bring depth and natural texture to the room.
The client’s vision was clear: open up the kitchen, maximize storage, and create a space where she and her daughter could cook and spend time together. We removed a pony wall and introduced a peninsula, helping to define the kitchen while fostering better flow and connection throughout the home. Appliances were thoughtfully relocated to improve functionality and create a more intuitive layout.
The walnut countertops became the defining feature of the space. Finished with a hand-rubbed blend of tung oil and beeswax, they offer a soft luster and bespoke character that pairs beautifully with the cool tones of the teal tile and crisp white cabinetry. The peninsula continues this balance, featuring a clean white quartz surface framed by walnut cabinetry and open shelving—combining utility with intentional design.
