For this Doylestown exterior remodel project, our clients had recently re-sided their home—an upgrade that greatly improved its exterior—but they felt it still lacked visual interest and didn’t fully reflect their personal style. To introduce warmth and architectural depth, we proposed adding a front patio and portico.
Crafted entirely from solid cedar, the portico was custom-designed in-house and features a faux copper metal roof paired with copper gutters that run along its sides. They loved the arts and crafts style of building with exposed timbers and handcrafted joinery.
To ensure durability and easy maintenance, the patio was poured in stamped concrete. We extended the design language across the front of the home with a new garage door and a cedar trellis, unifying the facade. Finishing touches—including a Moravian star pendant and Saltillo tile—were borrowed from the home’s interior palette, creating a cohesive transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.
